PROJECT 50/50:
A pledge campaign to raise P50,000 for the 50 marching Sumilao farmers

From October 9 to December 10, 50 of the 150 claimant-farmers of Higaonon Ancestry will be marching from Bukidnon to Manila to voiceout and demand their rights over their ancestral lands and also bring to national attention the importance of agrarian reform.

As men-and-women for others, we are called to hear the plight of our less fortunate brothers and sisters and act to make a difference in our society. This crusade of the Sumilao farmers for a better agrarian reform program is a very good opportunity for us to make that difference.

Mechanics of the pledge campaign:
1. Individuals or blocks can donate money in these denominations:
1 x P 5000
2 x P 2500
3 x P 1000
4 x P 500
100 x P 100
300 x P 50
500 x P 20
for a total of P 50000

2. Donations can be given to your block or course representatives who will forward this to members of the Committee on Social Concerns and Involvement.

3. You or your group will be given an official receipt for auditing purposes.

4. Your name will also be written on a tarpaulin to be hanged in MVP to track the progress of the pledge campaign.

5. This pledge campaign will start on November 12 and will end on November 30.

The proceeds from this pledge campaign shall be used to support the marchers as they journey to MalacaƱang.

Also, watch out for the donation cans to be placed in strategic areason campus and to be carried by all your Sanggunian officers.

Track the progress of the march and know other information about this campaign and the agrarian reform program at the Sanggunian board along EDSA Walk to be set up together with the DS students supporting this march.

Finally, watch out for the Forum on Agrarian Reform where experts will provide the current facts and problems faced by the agricultural sector in terms of land distribution reform. More details on thisevent will be released soon.
