Why I Wanna Vote for Partido AGILA

Right now,
YOU
are helping your country

Yes YOU!

You're helping the country by:
· Driving responsibly
· Studying in college
· Being active in orgs
· Voting for the Sanggunian and National Elections
· Etc.

But if we work together,
WE can do better

Why bother?
Because WE will NOT be students forever

Let's start with what
WE can do NOW
to help build OUR country

Here's How:
· Going LOCAL! We don't have to start BIG just because we dream BIG. Let's continue doing small things while keeping in mind the BIG picture.
· Know OUR rights! We won't get to exercise our rights as citizens if we're not first aware of our rights as students. This is our local community, and we have rights to it. We have every RIGHT to know that.
· Keep on doing our responsibilities: driving carefully, going to class, cleaning up after eating, segregating trash, and VOTING. Because you may not realize it, but YOU make an impact.

This is what Partido Agila mean by
A Nation Notion

And this what we want to share with you for next year

If WE work together,
no matter how BIG the dream is,
our small efforts can create an impact

Vote. Partido Agila. A NATION NOTION.

Letter from the Ateneo COMELEC and Public apology from Marvyn Llamas of Partido Agila

February 9, 2007

Mr. Marvyn Llamas
Chairman, Partido Agila

Dear Sir,

As a resolution to the complaint filed by Partido Igancio regarding the use of Party T-shirts for campaigning during a mass action on February 6, 2007, the Ateneo COMELEC, pursuant of the powers vested in it by the 2005 Sanggunian Constitution, has decided to sanction Partido Agila on the grounds that your party has violated General Elections Guidelines #1 and #2 which state that:

All materials should have at least the election date prominently printed on them
Hard Copies of all campaign materials must be submitted to the COMELEC for approval.

Even though not stated explicitly in the Candidates manual, the Commission has decided that according to the OSA guidelines, t-shirts and other ephemerals are considered as propaganda materials (page 36 of Guidelines for Student Activities 2006 ed.) and should have been first submitted to us prior to distribution. This provision not only ensures fairness in campaigning but also a check for extravagant spending in the elections season.

The COMELEC has decided that the Party should produce a public apology letter to be emailed today, February 9, 2007, on or before 11:59 pm to the Ateneo COMELEC at ateneocomelec@yahoo.com. The Apology letter will be forwarded to the Ateneo Online Bulletin by the Commission. A hard copy should also be submitted to the COMELEC. This will serve as a sanction for the said offence.

So ordered,

Omar Castanar Aurelia Beatric Santos
Commissioner Commissioner

Adrian Ada Marie Ysabelle Hope Reyes
Commissioner Commissioner

Immanuel Santos
Chief Commissioner

09 February 2007

Immanuel Santos
Chief Commissioner
COMELEC
Ateneo de Manila University

Dear Mr. Santos,

On behalf of Partido Agila, we would like to express our sincere regret over the violation of General Elections Guideline # 1 and # 2 which state that:

All materials should have at least the election date prominently printed on them
Hard Copies of all campaign materials must be submitted to the COMELEC for approval.

The Party will continue to follow the electoral code faithfully, and will make sure that such incidents never take place in the future. We would like to express our graditude to the Ateneo COMELEC for being very understanding.

Thank you and God Bless!

Sincerely,
Marvyn Llamas, Chairman Partido Agila

ENTABLADO presents its Grand Season Finale "SANDAANG PANAGINIP"

Written by Rene O. Villanueva, a critically acclaimed and multi-awarded author, Sandaang Panaginip will surely make the audience roll with laughter and move to tears. First staged in 1981 commissioned by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, it is meant to be an allegory to the infamous Marcoses. It is in the form of komedya, a traditional theater form in the Philippines.

Commonly known as the moro-moro, it is usually about the fight between good and evil, represented by Christian and Moslems respectively, wherein the good prevails. Staging this theater form would be a first in the Ateneo.

Under the directorship of Jerry Respeto, Sandaang Panaginip will showcase Philippine theater, featuring a wonderful fusion of tradition, pop culture and technology. Telon de boca merges with komiks, graphics and video walls; San Dionisio’s batalla and curacha would be integrated with acrobatics, modern dance and movement, and martial arts; komedya de kapa y espada meets clever play of lights, music and special effects.

Sandaang Panaginip will be shown from February 13 to 24, 2007 at 7:00 PM, at the CERVINI FIELD, Ateneo De Manila University.

YOU ARE INVITED to come and see this spectacular performance by Entablado.

Sandaang Panaginip aims to advance excellence and professionalism in artistic skills, production systems, and technical proficiency in the theater; conserve, support and promote theaterworks and activities significant to Philippine cultural heritage, history, and identity; and, bolster and broaden public participation in Philippine theater.

Tickets are available at P200.

When in Doubt, ASCC: The Ateneo Student Concern Center

As a Jesuit and Catholic university, the Ateneo de Manila urges students to promote a lifestyle that is simple, value-oriented, and free-spirited. Students are required to dress simply, appropriately, and decently.

Administrators and faculty members, acting individually or in groups (for instance, as a Department, as a School) may stipulate more precisely the appropriate modes of attire in designated classrooms or other areas and for designated events or occasions.

Do you think this right was violated? ASCC is here for you!

As an arm of the Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral ng Ateneo's Student Rights and Welfare (STRAW), the Ateneo Student Concern Center (ASCC) serves as the main venue where students can express their issues and grievances, which may either be academic or non-academic in nature. Here, students may also forward their suggestions to any school unit as well as queries for further information.

The ATENEO STUDENT CONCERN CENTER shall uphold the students’ rights as enshrined in the pertinent documents of Ateneo but are not limited to the Student Handbook and the Magna Carta of Undergraduate Student Rights.

TO FILE A CONCERN OR COMPLAINT:(Example: “My teacher/professor didn’t announce a major longtest.”)1. Visit to the ASCC office (MVP 200) and relate your concern with one of our case officers.2. Fill out a concern form and specify what course of action you would like to happen.3. Our members will then work on your concern and give your updates through SMS or e-mail.

FOR OTHER QUESTIONS OR GENERAL INFORMATION:(Example: “Do we have classes next Monday?”)1. Simply visit the ASCC Office (MVP 200) and speak to one of our case officers.
