POWER: Trouble shooting of the De la Costa Hall generator started at 7:00 a.m. and was completed in 45 minutes last Sunday, 2 September. University Physical Plant personnel can now take remedial action in case the electronic control panel malfunctions again.
SECURITY: Sixteen units of cellular phones were found and returned to owners from June to August 2007. This number exceeds the eight units reported lost but not recovered in the same period. Carelessness in the custody of personal belongings remains a problem on campus.
A Nokia 6233 cell phone found in the SEC covered walk at 9:10 a.m. was claimed by the owner 4:33 p.m. of the same day.
This sedan parked in one of the carparks is fully locked, except that the window at the back is half open.
TRAFFIC: Pot holes on campus roads slow down traffic during rush hours. Repairs are being progressively done based on available time.
Repair of driveway to College Chapel during the long break.
Repairs were also done last weekend at the College Lane near De la Costa and Faura Halls.
Repairs were all done in Xavier Hall’s driveway and at the diversion road (road parallel to Katipunan from Gate 2 to Gate 3).
Vehicular accidents along Katipunan.
2:05 a.m. Friday, 31 August in front of Gate 3. A driver must have fallen asleep while driving and smashed into the center island in front of Ateneo’s Gate. The driver suffered minor injuries.
11:30 a.m. Friday 31 August at the northbound lane of the flyover near Ateneo’s Gate 1. A sedan miscalculated in overtaking a cargo truck and hit the truck. The sedan span several times and blocked the northbound lane.
9:00 p.m., Saturday 1 September, a pick-up truck rammed the pedestal of a traffic light in the center island in front of Gate 3. The driver and passenger suffered minor injuries. They refused to have their pictures taken.
The community is cautioned to drive defensively along Katipunan.
